Develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures necessary to ensure effective execution of material planning and logistics functions including customer service, material planning, production scheduling, receiving, shipping, material handling, inventory management and inventory control. Manage, control, and direct the operations, activities and personnel engaged in customer service, material planning, production scheduling, receiving, shipping, material handling, inventory management and inventory control. The role is also responsible for administrating, and communicating customer demand to assure delivery of product to the customer at the right time, in the right quantity and in the right quality The Materials Planning and Logistics Manager develops & drives operational excellence through people & process-oriented leadership supported by lean logistics concepts and methods. This position defines the local Materials Planning and Logistics strategy according to and aligned with the plant leadership & the US Regions Materials Planning and Logistics objectives, optimizes material planning and logistics processes and systems to achieve lowest total cost and highly reliable delivery. The Materials Planning and Logistics Manager leads, directs, and mentors the Plant Materials planning and Logistics Team including Schedulers, Buyers and Materials team members. The Material Planning and Logistics Manager is responsible for all aspects of customer service, material planning, production scheduling, receiving, shipping, material handling, inventory management and inventory control.
